Mr. Edgar Garcia is a veteran educator and school administrator with more than 25 years of experience in Arizona’s K–12 public education system. A bilingual leader and first-generation college graduate, he has served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent, leading schools to measurable gains in academic performance, graduation rates, and school culture.
Under his leadership, a former high school was recognized as one of the Top 5 High Schools in Arizona for Graduation Rates in 2023, and he successfully led a turnaround effort that raised the school’s state accountability grade from a D to an A.
Mr. Garcia is a state and national presenter on instructional leadership and school improvement and is currently completing his doctoral studies in Educational Leadership, focusing on rural school success. He remains deeply committed to equity, strong community partnerships, and expanding opportunities for students through rigorous academics, career pathways, and athletics.
He is honored to serve as the principal of Mountainside High School and to support the continued growth of the Nadaburg Unified School District
